"The turning point of the album, introducing the first sense of affirmation, purpose, spiritual realization and Hope (such a dirty word in Black Metal) on the album, and accordingly, in the band's recording history. The creation of this song (fueled by Alcest's 'Tristesse Hivernale' demo and Opeth's 'Morningrise') was also the turning point of Obsidian Tongue, which up to that day was just an experiment, albeit an increasingly satisfying experiment. Black Metal became a serious conviction that day, the same day the first half of 'Moonroom' was written.
The lyrics are based around this feeling. They are actually quite literal in the sense of being about the endeavor of this band, finding purpose and strength in depression and 'grinding down the towers of primordial misery' ".
lyrics
After the fall from innocence,
I bade my remaining honor to an Unknown
Whirlwinds of unearthly screams
spoke the name I had before the descent.
Past life remembered
Past plight restored
The One Eye will behold life within the sorrow.
Ancient threads will stream between my sullen human eyes
Reborn now, and somehow, the sons and daughters of light
Will learn of my reprieve into the Heart of Night
“There is another plane on which the pentaform can be sustained
Won’t you follow me through the archway, and don your skin with the waters of banished lore?”
I cannot refuse
I cannot resist
The only way to honor my pain is following him
Grinding down the towers of primordial misery
Will the skeletal monolith be carried away by the eyes of my intention?
Will the whispering stones edify me to transform these bones to gold?
Wilting will becomes a gateway to ancient lands of tangled wood
Trees shaped like humans suffering: Honor to the moments that made us complete…
Is our weakness truly weak?
Is our collapse truly a Loss?
Crawling closer, through streams of tears and thorns of hate,
The Shadow of Man nears the mouth of the Cavern of Absolution
And shadows perform ceremony,
through our misery
We are instruments to the Invisible

never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu

Jordan Vauvert

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf

Литоургиiа réussit l'impensable : faire entrer le black metal dans l'église orthodoxe.
