Kinship as a Wound pt. II

from 2010 Demo by Obsidian Tongue

/

lyrics

A wound for each finger to rape
Laying kin silent now
Assured for ages past and to come
They will never heal
Questions open their eyes to greet light
Shadows of fingers divide the ray
The cocoons that could bear truth
Claimed by a vortex of inner grime
Their souls were banished by a lesser sorcery
They were given a field in which to live hidden

And there they are
Building a means to reach you
To take you back to burn in their field
Until you can't burn anymore

And they'll dance the proper patterns around your flames
To wake the mother of their black field
and she will know
Now she can evaporate
and the dwellers will follow
Earth will greet them with new names

And your remains
will rest motionless
in a moving ether
As a stagnation
that will wash away with time
